Behavior Policy
Entering the building and using library resources requires following these rules:
1. Threatening staff and other patrons verbally or physically is strictly prohibited.
Examples of threatening behavior include:
--verbal threats
--failure to listen to reasonable staff requests
--staring
--stalking
--lurking
--indecent exposure
--offensive touching
2. Misuse of library furniture, equipment or materials is prohibited.
Examples of misuse include:
--throwing books or furniture
--stealing library materials
--cutting pages from books
--slashing furniture
3. There is no smoking in the library.
4. Cell phone calls should be taken outside the building.
Failure to comply with the library’s behavior policy can result in the following actions being taken:
--removal from the library
--expulsion from the library for a period of one day to one year
--arrest or prosecution
Violations can also result in the restriction or termination of library privileges, including the use of public computer terminals and other equipment.
